Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Chef Marcela Valladolid and her new show, The Kitchen.
Celebrity Chef Marcela Valladolid recalls her teen years living in two different worlds. “Being raised on the border between Mexico and the U.S. meant that my life was split down the middle in terms of culture every single day.” This experience inspired her to bring true Mexican cooking to the forefront. “I was frustrated with the misrepresentation of Mexican cuisine and I wanted to find a platform to talk about it.” The result was Mexican Made Easy and, more recently, The Kitchen, both on Food Network.

On The Kitchen, Valladolid co-hosts with chefs Katie Alee, Sonny Anderson, “Iron Chef” Jeffrey Zakarian and the “Sandwich King” Jeff Mauro. “What’s great about the show is that our perspectives are so completely different, so within that hour you’re getting a wealth of information like how to shop, eat, cook, prepare seasonal ingredients and use your cooking equipment.”
