NASCAR driver Aric Almirola is racing his way to the top.

For NASCAR driver Aric Almirola, fast cars have always been part of his life. “I grew up in a family that raced, and so my biggest inspiration was watching my grandfather and my dad at the race track.” Today, Almirola, in car No. 43 Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports, is the first driver of Cuban descent to capture a pole and a victory in two of NASCAR’s three national touring series. “I feel like my job is one of the coolest jobs in the world; I get to drive a race car for a living at 200 miles an hour.”

Almirola is also very appreciative of everything his grandparents and parents gave up to come to this country. “I’m very proud of my Cuban heritage and extremely grateful for my family and where they’ve come from and what they’ve sacrificed.”
